AiR: 40 years of work-oriented rehabilitation - now strengthened with digital tools

Work-oriented rehabilitation is about helping people return to work despite health challenges. For almost 40 years, AiR has been a pioneer in this field. Now they've taken an important step forward: by adopting the Youwell platform, they can strengthen and extend the rehabilitation process, so participants get the follow-up they need - even after the stay.

Since 1986, AiR has worked to give people on long-term sick leave the opportunity to find their way back into working life. They see the whole person - not just the diagnosis - and have a multidisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, sports educators, and work consultants supporting participants throughout the process.

Many of the people we meet have been on sick leave for a long time. Often the first thing to disappear is what gives them joy and energy, and work can start to feel distant.

Youwell acts as a link between the participants, the programme, and AiR's team.

Many go home highly motivated, but then life happens. The challenges they faced before the stay come back, and some fall back into old patterns. That's where digital tools can help them stay on course.

An important goal of the collaboration has been to free up time for AiR's staff.

We want our staff to spend their time on people - not paperwork. With Youwell, we get a better balance and can follow up participants in a better way.

- Guri, AiR

With Youwell, AiR has taken an important step towards more holistic rehabilitation, where the platform makes it possible to follow up participants in a more structured and targeted way.
