From 1 October, patients in Helse Møre og Romsdal can receive digital treatment for depression and anxiety. Patients follow the treatment in the Youwell patient app, while clinicians follow up in the Youwell platform. Before the launch, we travelled to Ålesund to show the clinicians how it works in practice.
eBehandling is now under way in Helse Møre og Romsdal. The service is offered within mental health and substance use care, and patients can use the app on mobile, tablet or PC, wherever they are and whenever it suits them. Clinicians use the Youwell platform to follow up patients along the way.
Digital treatment with support from a clinician
Patients are referred by their GP or by specialist health care, and work through digital treatment programmes in the patient app. Along the way they receive follow-up from a clinician through written messages in the platform. The treatment can also be combined with in-person consultations or video when needed. After treatment has ended, patients still have access to the content in the app for six months, so they can return to what they have learned.
Hands-on training in Ålesund
On 31 August, Helse Møre og Romsdal gathered clinicians for training in eBehandling in Ålesund. Jessica Goodfellow, Customer Success Manager at Youwell, took part and showed the clinicians around the Youwell platform. They went through practical examples of how patient follow-up works, and the clinicians got to try the solution themselves along the way. The aim was for them to feel confident with the tool and be ready to follow up patients digitally from day one.
The work in Helse Møre og Romsdal is led by section head Anja Bjørkavåg, in collaboration with HMR Nær and the digital team for mental health and substance use care.
eBehandling across all of Helse Midt-Norge
With the launch in Helse Møre og Romsdal, eBehandling is now under way across all of Helse Midt-Norge. The service is also offered in Helse Vest, Helse Nord and Helse Sør-Øst, and the roll-out is the next step in the VIB agreement (guided internet treatment).
