More efficient operations, without compromising the patient experience
Youwell helps private clinics and rehabilitation providers structure patient pathways and reduce time spent on administration - resulting in increased capacity, higher quality of service, and better use of data.
Structured patient pathways that free up time for what matters most
Challenges in private healthcare
Many clinics deliver good treatment during appointments, but have little structure around what happens before and after.
- Consultation time is spent gathering information that could have been collected beforehand
- Follow-up between appointments happens by email, SMS, and phone, with no combined overview
- Home exercises and training programmes are sent as PDFs and not followed up systematically
- Different clinicians do things differently, so the patient experience varies
- Documentation for commissioners, insurers, or employers has to be pulled together manually
- Building your own digital solution requires development and upkeep the clinic doesn't have capacity for
A structured digital pathway means the same offering can be delivered consistently by multiple clinicians, and contact between appointments happens in one place.
How Youwell creates value
The clinic can build its own pathways, or use ready-made programmes from the library - on a platform integrated with electronic health records, without developing a technical solution themselves.
- Preparation, treatment, and follow-up in the same patient interface
- Standardised pathways that give a more consistent delivery across clinicians
- Your own form packages and programmes, set up by the clinic itself, or taken from the library
- Dialogue, tasks, video, and reminders gathered together, not spread across several channels
- A complete calendar for structuring all types of appointments - consultations, group sessions, webinars, and more
- Integration with electronic health record systems, so data isn't entered twice
- Your own branding and name on the patient app
- Overview of completion, as a basis for reporting to commissioners
- Roles and access per clinician, with traceable access logs
Typical use cases
Below are the use cases we see most often - they can be combined and adapted, and are all built from the same building blocks: modules, forms, diaries, logging, tasks, dialogue, video, messages, notifications, flagging, and data exports.
Preparation before a consultation
The clinic sends assessment forms and preparation tasks before the appointment. The clinician has the answers ready when the patient arrives, and spends less of the appointment gathering information. The forms can be repeated at defined points to show progress over time.
Follow-up between appointments
The clinician gives the patient exercises, diaries, and home tasks with reminders in the period between appointments. The logs appear in the clinician's overview and can be discussed at the next appointment. The patient has the plan available digitally and can work on it wherever and whenever suits them.
Digital treatment and training programmes
The clinic builds structured treatment programmes with modules, video, tasks, and logging - such as self-help, guided treatment, or hybrid pathways, depending on what the patient group needs. Programmes can be built from scratch with a simple authoring tool, or taken from the library, and assigned per patient with their own start date.
Digital part of a rehabilitation stay
Rehabilitation providers structure the pathway in three phases - preparation with assessment and information, delivery with a training programme and daily self-reporting during the stay itself, and follow-up with digital home training and scheduled video calls afterwards. The clinician tracks progress through all phases, and contact is maintained during the period when dropout is otherwise common.
Group offerings and courses with digital structure
Participants in a course or group pathway get the same sequence of modules and tasks, combined with shared video sessions. The group leader sees who has completed what, and can message individual participants or the whole group. The same setup can be reused for each new cohort.
Occupational health and work-related follow-up
Employees get assessments and structured programmes on topics such as sleep, stress, and workload, with an assigned contact person. Individual data sits with the healthcare staff, while the employer only receives aggregated, de-identified statistics. The separation is set up through roles and access, not through routine alone.
Contract- and insurance-based pathways
Providers with agreements with insurers or employers deliver a defined pathway with fixed content and fixed measurement points. Completion is documented along the way, and reporting to the commissioner is based on exports of agreed, de-identified pathway data.
Patient dialogue in one place
Messages, appointments, video, and information sit in the same solution as the pathway, with read receipts and the option to flag a message for follow-up. The clinician sees unread messages across all their patients. Individual features such as chat, video, or appointments can be switched off if the clinic doesn't use them.

Author
The clinic sets up its own pathways, form packages, and programme variants - with its own name and branding on the patient app.
Deliver
Clinicians assign pathways, follow up logs and dialogue, and keep video and in-person appointments in the same overview.
Analyse
Completion and form responses can be exported as a basis for the clinic's own quality follow-up and reporting to commissioners.
